Wheels Within Wheels Car Service
Wheels within Wheels services are supported by Suffolk County Council. Each service uses a vehicle with access for a wheelchair and is driven by volunteers. Anyone young or old, with or without a disability, may ask to make certain journeys for which no private car or public transport is available.
The service is subsidised by Suffolk County Council, and passengers contribute on a mileage basis - enquire for details.
Eligible journeys include local shopping and personal business, visiting relatives or friends and local visits to the doctor, dentist or optician.
Journeys are subject to volunteer availability and the number of requests received. Advance notice is therefore essential.
HOW TO BOOKJourneys are booked on a first come, first served basis. Giving plenty of advanced notice of your needs will help. We will not be able to undertake journeys which could reasonably be made by other means of public transport. HCTG provide this service in Hadleigh and Lavenham areas.
